PUBLIC WORKS SUPERVISOR
 
The County of St. Paul is situated in beautiful Northeast Alberta, in the heart of the Lakeland, approximately 200 kilometres from Edmonton.  This vibrant rural community offers excellent recreational, cultural and educational opportunities complimented by a peaceful and quiet lifestyle. The population is 6468 and continues to grow.  The County contains over 1200 farms, several lake lot subdivisions, 3 hamlets with water and sewer services as well as oil and gas companies.  The County consists of approximately 2000 km of roads which are maintained by a fleet of 14 graders.  The County also owns and operates their own gravel crushing unit, road construction equipment and gravel trucks.
 
The County of St. Paul No. 19 invites applications for the position of Public Works Supervisor. This position reports directly to the Director of Public Works and is responsible for supervising, scheduling and controlling the activities of the Public Works department in road construction and maintenance.
 
The Supervisor is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of all Public works functions.  This position will also be a member of the Asset Management Team and be responsible for the assets in the Public Works Department.  The County offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefit package. 
 
Candidates must possess excellent organizational, administrative, and public relations skills. As well, candidates must possess strong oral and written communication abilities, computer skills, and a deep knowledge of road construction. Certification as a Registered or Certified Engineering Technologist or eligibility for certification would be beneficial.
