The City of St. Albert is seeking to hire a Corporate Planning Advisor who will support the organization in navigating integrated business planning processes. This position is responsible for delivering a full scope of activities in support of the corporate business planning cycle, including assisting client Departments in the development of business plans and performance metrics. As a key resource for the Corporate Planning branch, the position will be provided an opportunity to build and design corporate planning processes. As a trusted advisor, this position will provide a significant amount of advice and direction around the development of the department business plans, and thus the incumbent requires skill and ability in facilitation as well as the ability to build strategic network and partnerships.
 
Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Planning, the Advisor will:
  • Apply their knowledge and skills to the design, implementation and support of corporate planning systems.
  • Provide strategic business advice and support to client departments.
  • Conduct research and implement best practices and procedures.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • An undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field combined with a minimum of three years of experience in designing and coordinating organizational processes such as business planning, performance measurement, and corporate reporting. A minimum of five years of experience will be required in combination with a Diploma.
  • A good understanding of, and skill, in facilitation, strategic planning, business planning, performance measurement, process design, reporting, research, change management, policy development and analytical techniques.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills with diversified audiences, with proven results (informing and listening effectively).
  • Strategic thinker with proven ability to translate thinking to action and impact.
  • Strong critical thinking, consensus-building and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build strategic networks and partnerships with internal stakeholders.
  • Fully conversant in the use of Microsoft Office applications (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
 
HOURS OF WORK
We offer a compressed schedule of 72 hours bi-weekly (Monday - Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 with a regular day off [RDO] every two weeks).
 
COMPENSATION
$74,438 - $90,565 per annum. In addition, the City of St. Albert offers a generous and comprehensive benefit package.
