EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR LEVEL 2

The M.D. is currently seeking a full-time Level 2 Water/Wastewater Operator. Under the supervision of the Director of Utilities, the incumbent will assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the municipality’s three water treatment facilities, seven water distribution facilities, and three wastewater collection and treatment facilities which includes monitoring and reporting as per Alberta Environment Codes and Regulations and applicable Codes of Practice. The M.D. is also currently in the construction stage of a $20 million Regional Waterline Upgrade.
 
The preferred candidate would have the following skills and aptitudes:
  • Alberta Environment Certification – Level 2 in all four disciplines (lesser qualifications may be considered)
  • Membrane Water & Wastewater Treatment experience would be an asset
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license
  • Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
  • Ability to keep accurate and detailed records
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and SCADA systems
