EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: WATER/WASTEWATER OPERATOR LEVEL 1 OR 2

The M.D is currently seeking a full-time Water/Wastewater Operator Level 1 or 2. Under the supervision of the Director of Utilities, the incumbent will assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the municipality’s three water treatment facilities, seven water distribution facilities, and three wastewater collection and treatment facilities which includes monitoring and reporting as per Alberta Environment Codes and Regulations and applicable Codes of Practice. The M.D. is also currently in the construction stage of a $20 million Regional Waterline Upgrade.
 
The preferred candidate would have the following skills and aptitudes:
  • Alberta Environment Certification – minimum Level 1 or eligible to write Level 2 in all four disciplines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to keep accurate and detailed records
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to deal with the general public in an effective and courteous manner
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and SCADA systems would be an asset
