The Town of High River is seeking a dynamic and energetic Facility Operations Supervisor to provide overall guidance and leadership pertaining to the facility operations at the Bob Snodgrass Recreation Complex & Cargill Field House. The facility consists of two ice areas, concessions, curling arena, and a newly added 33,000 sq. ft. field house to accommodate a variety of recreational activities. This position will be responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of these facilities as well as being involved in short and long term planning. This position will also lend maintenance support and expertise to the aquatics operations and pool facility. As necessary the incumbent may be required to be in the field and work alongside their six subordinates.
 
To prepare for this position, you will have five years municipal Arena experience with three to five years supervisory experience. Additionally, the following certifications and qualifications are required:
 
  • Grade 12 Diploma or GED
  • Five (5) years municipal Arena experience
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years supervisory experience
  • Must possess an Arena Level I and II Certificate and Ice Maintenance Certificate
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License
  • Must possess Standard First Aid with CPR Level C
  • Must have WHMIS training
  • Have mechanical aptitude and skills and problem solving skills
  • Able to operate equipment associated with recreation facilities
  • Work independently or within a team
  • Physically able to perform all job duties
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment
  • Functional computer skills using Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Significant knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles used in all aspects, ice, facility and janitorial maintenance
