Foothills County is a vibrant and thriving municipality South of Calgary.  Our administrative office is located in High River, AB.  Foothills County employs approximately 150 full time, permanent employees in several locations throughout the municipality.  Foothills County values customer service, continual professional development, open communication and work/life balance. 
We are currently accepting applications for a permanent full-time Manager of IT. 
The County is in the process of creating an in-house IT department.  This position will assist in the transition from contracted & shared services with the Town of High River to a fully independent department serving Foothills County exclusively.  The IT Manager will have the opportunity to work and train with the existing contractor while these shared services are split.  This position will hire and supervise a Business Support Technician to create and maintain a self-sufficient, customer focused IT department.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter with a robust knowledge of IT.   This role requires a hands-on approach, being able to work within a team and provide effective IT operational support, guidance and direction to Foothills County.
To be successful in this position, you will hold a diploma in Computer Sciences or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.   You will require Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) accreditation and experience in designing and managing mid-size local and wide area networks.   You should be proficient with Citrix servers, Windows 7 & 10 as well as MS Office 2016 and Office 365.  Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics, Worktech, Avanti and ESRI products would be considered an asset.
