GIS/GPS TECHNICIAN
 
 

 

 
Flagstaff County is a prominent Agricultural producing region located in east central Alberta. Our rural “Community of communities” has a population of 8,350 which is inclusive of the eight towns and villages within the region. Our peaceful, enjoyable, family oriented municipality is located approximately 150 km southeast of Edmonton with our office located near Sedgewick.
 
Summary of Position:
 
The GIS/GPS Technician is responsible for the design and development of GIS (Geographic Information System) databases and applications, digital mapping and data management and providing spatial information to various users as well as maintaining the GPS (Global Positioning Systems) for all departments.
 
Qualifications:
 
  1. College or University diploma/degree with a specialization in GIS or related field.
  2. A minimum of two (2) years of related experience in GIS and GPS applications.
  3. Ability to develop clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
  4. Experience and/or knowledge of ArcGIS, AutoCAD, GeoMedia Professional, GPS data collection and Microsoft Office applications.
