Position Overview: The Town of Canmore is looking for a Junior Engineering Technician who is keen to take on diverse challenges as a member of our Engineering Department. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build their portfolio of civil engineering skills as they assist the engineer team with: Building and development permit review, approval and inspection Road use and miscellaneous permit management Field investigations, date collections, GIS assistance and reporting Traffic control signal monitoring and maintenance
Attributes: We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong commitment to detail, and the proven ability to work well both independently and in a team environment. The successful candidate must meet the following minimum requirements: Post secondary education in a related technical discipline experience in a similar field of work Membership with ASET or similar technology association is an asset Familiarity with AutoCAD, GPS, and GIS, Bluebeam Revu are an asset Valid vehicle operator’s license, class 5 or higher Ability to work independently, in the field, in variable terrain and weather conditions.
