UTILITY TECHNICIAN - LEVEL II
 
The Town of Stony Plain Planning and Infrastructure Department has a full time position available for a Utility Technician Level II.  This position will work in the Utilities division and will assist other divisions when necessary.  In addition to a 40 hour work week, the successful candidate must be willing to work overtime as required and participate in the standby schedule on a rotational basis.
 
This position will be responsible for assisting in the daily operation, repair and maintenance of the Town’s Utility network.  This network comprises water, sanitary and storm mains and their appurtenances, service laterals, water storage and pump stations, dewatering stations, sanitary lift stations and meters.
 
Qualifications required are Grade 12 or equivalency, Alberta Environment Certification in Level II Water Distribution and Level II Wastewater Collection (Level III preferred), and an Alberta Class 3 Operator’s License with air brake endorsement.  Other relevant skills include: heavy equipment operation, a mechanical aptitude, excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy.
 
This position offers a competitive salary with an excellent benefits package including Local Authorities Pension Plan.  In accordance with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 955, Collective Agreement, the hourly rate ranges from $28.04 - $29.72 and is based on a 40 hour week.
