The Town of Peace River is seeking a dedicated, motivated, and dynamic professional to join our team in the role of Recreation Facilities Coordinator.

OPPORTUNITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Assisting the Director of Community Services with the maintenance, development, and community relations at all recreation facilities.
• Overseeing the operation and maintenance of the Peace River Kinsmen Arena.
• Assisting in the planning and delivery of community events.
• Planning and implementing all preventative maintenance schedules and functions relating to the Town’s parks, playgrounds, sports fields and open spaces.
• This full-time position has supervisory responsibilities.

DESIRABLE ATTRIBUTES INCLUDE:

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to:
• multi-task several projects;
• handle conflicting priorities and work schedules and rearrange work to meet changing deadlines;
• plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate community recreation programs;
• develop and monitor budgets;
• oversee the operation and maintenance of various recreation facilities;
• supervise, provide direction, and train staff as required.
• Excellent communication skills to work with community stakeholders as well as various town departments.
• Knowledge of municipal operations, volunteer organizations, and recreation facility operations.

• Diploma in Recreation Administration, Physical Education, Recreation facility management or related field.
• One year in a municipal government environment or related field.
• Experience in program development, community development and evaluation.
• Experience in facility maintenance and development.
• Standard First Aid/ CPR Certificate.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license and access to your own vehicle
• One year’s experience at a supervisory level

Preferred Level

• Undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration, Physical Education or related field
• 2 - 5 years of supervisory experience.
• 2 - 5 years in a municipal government environment.

The Town of Peace River offers a positive working environment and a competitive benefits package. Salary range $56,573 – $71,050.
