TOURISM COORDINATOR

The Municipal District of Opportunity is accepting Resumes from individuals who are interested in Full Time Permanent employment. The position will be responsible for the coordination and operations of all Tourist Information Centres within the MD of Opportunity. The position will also be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of tourism activities and to conduct an MD wide tourism assessment and inventory.

The successful applicant will report to the Economic Development Officer and assist in economic development planning for events and activities.

The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

♦  Post-secondary education in marketing and/or journalism or a combination of experience and education in the related field.
♦  Must be creative, self motivated, team player and able to work with minimal supervision
♦  Should possess good research and writing skills and an aptitude in public relations and communication.
♦  Training and/or experience in related computer applications such as Microsoft Publisher and other media applications.
♦  Possess a valid driver’s license and can travel solo in various terrain when necessary.
