CITY OF EDMONTON
| Financial Strategist for a Growing Capital City |
| Chief Financial Officer |
You will have much more to contribute than just number crunching with the City of Edmonton. You will be the City’s principal financial strategist and chief presenter to Council on fiscal and budgetary matters. With a population of more than 750,000 people, the City of Edmonton is a thriving, modern, safe and progressive community. A wonderful place to live and a centre of both government and new-economy commerce, Edmonton has everything a diverse major city can offer along with a tradition of warmth and friendliness in its people. In this pivotal financial role, you will become a key thought leader, planner and advocate as this great Canadian city invests in a $3.5 billion LRT expansion, an airport redevelopment, a Downtown renaissance and a bid for Expo 2017.
Reporting directly to the City Manager, you will focus on a vision of the future and the right financial strategy to get there as Edmonton builds on its economic base. Be an author of the innovative use of revenues and the redefinition of the City’s portfolio. You will work closely with the Mayor, Council, the Corporate Leadership Team and functional heads as an advisor and subject matter expert on all things financial. Drive change and continuous improvement. Your insights, assessments and overviews will form the basis for major municipal decisions which you will present to Council and the people of Edmonton. Your ability to communicate, to forge partnerships and maintain relationships will have positive impacts on the future shape and structure of Edmonton and its 26 surrounding communities.
In addition to your highest level financial credentials, you have also earned a reputation as a compelling communicator and strategist. Add your sound judgment and experience presenting financial information in a public setting… and you are ideally positioned to lead one of Canada’s largest cities into an exciting new era of prosperity.
